John Chapman was born in London, Ontario on August the 28th in 1921.
His parents Lt. Col. Lloyd P. Chapman and Kathleen Saunders Chapman helped him become interested in astronomy as well as the space program. John Chapman started working with NASA and other space agencies to make the Canadian space station. Along with this position also spent a large amount of time working on a satellite called the Alouette Satellite, it allowed for people in unpopulated areas to receive direct TV without being near a tower. Chapman spent many of these working years married to Marian Chapman until his death on September 28, 1979.
